HAG offers a wide range of automatic doors available in swing or slide options, with a choice of controls for additional security. All automatic doors are compliant with BS 7036:1996, providing safe passage for pedestrian traffic.
Automatic Swing Doors & Operators
Automatic swing doors electrically operated for foot traffic available in a variety of designs. Suitable for frequent use and certified to 1,000,000 operation cycles. Swing door operators make doors suitable for areas with limited side space. Infrared sensors detect obstructions as part of integrated safety features. Recommended maximum width up to 3,000mm.
Automatic sliding doors for foot traffic available in a variety of designs. Suitable for frequent use and certified to 1,000,000 operation cycles. Integrated safety features include an auto reverse function, and optional extras can be specified. Operating box can be powder coated upon request. Recommended maximum width up to 3,000mm.
You would need to consider DDA compliance and safety of pedestrians using the door as well as vulnerable persons. Security would need to be considered along with access control if required.
Between sliding and swinging doors they are generally used for different applications. Swing doors allow for a controlled flow of traffic on entry and exit. Sliding doors are more robust and have larger openings to allow for higher traffic flow. Both swing and slide doors are good if the correct equipment is installed by a qualified person trained to the automatic door regulations.
Automatic doors are safe but must be installed by a person qualified to the current automatic door regulations. Maintenance must be carried out every 6-12 months to ensure the doors comply with current regulations and to ensure the doors are correctly maintained for health & safety reasons.
The maximum size can be around the 8000 mm width which would require 2 x motors and control panels to operate each door leaf. Both motors and controllers within the header should be set as master and slave so that they work in sequence. Standard double bi-parting automatic doors are between 2000 and 6000 mm. Standard swing between 1500 and 2400 mm.
