Flagship Primark Bristol

Client:

Primark Stores Ltd.

Main Contractor:

Patton Construction

Value:

£60,000

Overview:

Primark first started in Ireland but has since grown rapidly across the UK and Europe. As part of this growth, the company bought the old House of Fraser building in Bristol’s Horsefair in September 2008. Making the most of House of Fraser’s move to the (at the time) newly opened Cabot Circus and John Lewis deciding to take up residence in Cribbs Causeway, Primark soon established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the area.

The Primark store has a little under 100,000 sq ft of floorspace, making it one of their flagship stores in the UK and a close 2nd in terms of overall size behind Manchester’s Marble Arch store. The store covers four floors and boasts 57 cash registers, 76 fitting rooms and 18 escalators. Around 495 people are employed in positions that range from supervisors and shop floor assistants to department managers.

Project:

HAG secured shop fronts, doorways and loading bays with a wide range of products including our Armourguard Roller Shutters and HAG Steel Security Door sets. These were chosen to fully protect the store during closing hours, against theft and vandalism. Having tight security is extremely important for such a big store so we were honoured to be tasked with such a big part of the store’s running.

While maintaining our trademark high standards, the contract was successfully completed within deadline and budget; a great success for all those involved.
