If you’re considering an office refurbishment, or even planning a new build or expansion, it’s wise to look past fancy office furniture and consider what’s most important for your business.
Security, safety and protection may sound a little boring but think for a moment what’s most important:
Is it to protect your business, customers, stock and thus your livelihood?
Is it to find nice looking decorations or furniture that doesn’t really serve any function?
Not only are roller shutters, barriers for car parks, fire doors and fire curtains key products for your office refurbishment due to Health and Safety legislation but they also could protect your business in more ways than one. For example, a fire could devastate life, equipment and stock, so investing in fire protection is financially prudent.
Traffic Barriers and speed gates
Security and protection for your office refurbishment should start outdoors, with traffic barriers and speed gates.
Maybe you just need to control access to your car park with items such as the HAG Speed Gate? Perfect for securing places where access is frequent, designed to open in less than 2 seconds.
Or perhaps you’re considering traffic barriers that can be automatically operated, provide access control by keypad, remote or car, or even incorporated into an existing CCTV system?
Roller Shutters
Roller Shutters and grilles are becoming increasingly popular for office refurbishments, especially where the stock is held on premises or a company’s office is located within a light warehouse or business parks.
For example, office windows fit perfectly in line with the Seceuro range of aluminium roller shutters. By combining good looks with a medium level security product, an office can thus enhance light control and also provide shading.
Fire doors and curtains
Fire protection systems are designed to provide an effective fire barrier for commercial and industrial premises.
Fire doors are extremely important to protect against the spread of fire for a period of time, from 60 minutes up to four hours. A fire door such as the Fireguard FD01 steel door is compliant with BS476 part 20 and 22, BSEN1634 and is certified by CERTIFIRE. Available in a wide range of PVC laminate, wood grain and powder coat finishes, optional extras such vision panels and insect meshes enable a variety of functions and requirements to be met.
Fireguard roller shutters such as the FG and FT Compact range comply with BS EN 1634-1:2008 and BS 476 Part 22 1987 and can cover widths up to 12 and 6 metres respectively. For offices that combine delivery premises, roller shutters provide not just fire protection but also a secure and highly visible protection from burglary.
Fire curtains such as the HFS Plus Smoke & Fire curtain provide both fire and smoke protection in compliance with BS EN1634-1:2008. Curtains such as Fireguard Fire Curtain provide a two hour fire rating, can be operated automatically and are soundly constructed from stainless steel wire reinforced glass fibre.
