Fire Curtain

The Fireguard HF60 Fire Curtain delivers 60 minute fire protection. The system’s built-in self-closing mechanism links to the building’s emergency fire protection systems. Its specially coated glass fibre curtain prevents the spread of fire and protects main escape routes. Single curtains up to 5000mm (W) and 6000mm (H), or overlap multiple curtains to achieve widths up to 20m. CERTIFIRE approved.

Arrangement

The Fireguard HF60 Fire Curtain allows for an adaptable installation as it can be installed Face or Reveal Fix to Steel, Masonry, Hardwood or Fire Boarded Softwood.

The HF60 can be installed in suspended or solid ceilings if the application requires this fire protection system to be unseen.

Curtain Material

The curtain is manufactured from a Woven Fibreglass and Stainless Steel Fabric and coated in Intumescent Silicone.

To ensure its correct position in the guide frames whilst in operation, metal studs are sewn into the sides of the curtain.

Guide Rails

The Fireguard HF60 Fire Curtain has two galvanised steel guide rails of 100 mm x 50 mm.

Head Plates

Two galvanised steel head plates hold the shaft with the rolled curtain. The size of these plates is dependent on the height of the application.

Up to 4 metres high, 180 mm x 180 mm.

Over 4 metres high, 210 mm x 210 mm.

Head Box

The Fire Curtain assembly comprises of a box housing at high level. Inside of this sits the shaft, motor and rolled Curtain. The box is attached to channel section guides at each end.

Bottom Rail

A galvanised steel ‘Bell’ bottom rail provides the weight necessary for the curtain to self-close.

Operation

Single Phase Electric through a 24v DC Motor holds the system in the open position. When a fire is detected or power is lost the motor will disengage, allowing the Gravity Failsafe to activate.

Controls

The Fireguard HF60 fire curtain system is supplied with a Gravity Failsafe Control Panel with In-Built Lead-Acid Battery support.

Finish

Head Box, Guides and Bottom Rail are galvanised at source and can be Powder Coated as required to any standard RAL or BS4800 colour.

Fire Curtains have natural Silver Grey or Charcoal finish, dependent on specification.

Optional Extras

Silicone optical resin rescue vision windows are available, allowing emergency services to see into the area for rescue purposes. Able to withstand direct flame at temperatures up to 1065°C for periods of up to 2 hours, these can be positioned at either high or low level.
