Smoke Curtain

The Fireguard HS120 Smoke Curtain is a smoke barrier, and is tested up to 600 degrees C. Highly adaptable, this smoke protection system can be specified as fixed or automated to protect escape routes. The Smoke Curtain can be manufactured with no maximum width, and can be installed discreetly for low headroom requirements. CERTIFIRE approved.

Arrangement

The Fireguard HS120 Smoke Curtain is adaptable in its installation. It can be installed Face or Reveal Fix to Steel or Masonry.

The HS120 can be installed in suspended or solid ceilings if the application requires this fire protection system to be concealed.

Curtain Material

The curtain is manufactured from a Woven Fibreglass and Stainless Steel Fabric, coated in Intumescent Silicone.

To ensure its correct positioning in the guide frames whilst in operation, metal studs are sewn into the sides of the curtain.

Head Plates

Two galvanised steel head plates hold the shaft with the rolled curtain, sizing dependent on the height of the application.

Up to 3 metres high, 180 mm x 180 mm

Over 3 metres, dependent on specification.

Head Box

The Smoke Curtain assembly comprises of a box housing at high level. Inside of which sits the shaft, motor and wrapped curtain. The box is attached to channel section guides at each end.

Bottom Rail

A galvanised steel ‘T’ bottom rail provides the weight necessary for the curtain to self-close.

Operation

Single Phase Electric through a 24v DC Motor holds the system in the open position. When smoke is detected, or power is lost, the motor will disengage and allow the Gravity Failsafe to activate.

Controls

The Fireguard HS120 Smoke Curtain system is supplied with a gravity failsafe control panel with in-built lead-acid battery support.

Finish

Head Box, Guides and Bottom Rail are galvanised at source and can be Powder Coated as required to any standard RAL or BS4800 colour.

Smoke Curtains are naturally silver grey or charcoal finish, dependent on specification.
