High speed doors are ideal for businesses operating in premises that require a working environment with a controlled temperature, or are looking to reduce their energy costs and gas emissions. The durable doors are commonly used in industrial sectors where exits and entrances to the premises are in frequent use. Here are the top three reasons why a business will benefit from having a high speed door installed.
Adaptable for Indoor and Outdoor Use
High speed doors can be installed both indoors and outdoors. When used as an external aperture, the doors are extremely weather resistant as they are manufactured using hard wearing PVC which can withstand wind speeds of up to 80km/h when fully closed. When installed internally, the PVC doors can act as a thermal break between controlled climates in different warehouses and units used by a business.
Safety Features
The range of high speed doors are manufactured to include safety devices that prevent them from closing on personnel or equipment. To allow for safe usage, the doors are designed so that when obstructed, the closing operation will reverse to prevent damage.
Personnel or equipment obstructing or passing through the door are protected from it closing on them as they are detected by a photocell transceiver that emits an infrared light beam. When the beam has crossed the door automatically stops and begins to reopen to prevent potential harm to the door and the obstruction. The high speed doors are also fitted with warning lights that operate two seconds before opening or closing.
Reduces Air Leakage and Regulates Temperature
Along with our high speed doors being easy and quick to operate, the doors also help reduce the amount of air leakage from the premises. The insulated barrier created by the door when fully closed means that air is prevented from escaping and entering the premises, allowing for work environments and temperature to be easily regulated.
Manufactured from PVC that is temperature tested to -30°C up to +70°C, the doors are suited for industries that require a precise temperature and for those that are looking to make improvements that meet with the updating Building Regulations that will be introduced in April 2014.
