Talk me through a typical project from the moment you receive the enquiry to the point it goes into manufacture.

For larger contracts and projects, tenders and quotation requests are often submitted through the client or main contractor’s online tender/procurement system. HAG accesses the project information, which can include drawings, specifications, schedules and supporting documentation, and reviews the relevant information before preparing a quotation.

At this stage, HAG looks at the technical requirements and identifies any gaps or queries that need clarification. This can include dimensions, product requirements, fire or security performance, operation and other relevant technical information. Where a specification doesn’t identify a particular solution, HAG can advise on suitable options.

Once the order is placed, the project moves into the detailed design stage. Timescales are agreed, outstanding technical queries are resolved, drawings are produced and reviewed, and any changes or additional requirements are dealt with between HAG and the project team.

The process can involve some back-and-forth as information is confirmed and drawings are developed. Once the drawings have been reviewed and signed off by the client/project team, the agreed design can progress towards manufacture.
